Another certified green hotel for Praslin: Acajou Beach Resort obtains Seychelles Sustainable Tourism Label

The Acajou Beach Resort has become the latest tourism establishment to be awarded the Seychelles Sustainable Tourism Label (SSTL), after it was successfully assessed and certified as a resort that is integrating sustainability practices in its business operation.

The Minister for Tourism, Civil Aviation, Ports and Marine, Maurice Loustau-Lalanne presented the Chairman of Acajou Beach Resort, Hugh Payet with the Seychelles Sustainable Tourism Label certificate on Tuesday 11th July. The ceremony was attended by the Principal Secretary for Tourism, Anne Lafortune and the Tourism Department’s Director for Product development, Sinha Levkovic.

The Seychelles Sustainable Tourism Label Achieves GSTC Recognition & Certifies Hilton Northolme and DoubleTree Allamanda Hotels

The Seychelles Sustainable Tourism Label (SSTL) which is an initiative of the Government of Seychelles and is being implemented by its Ministry responsible for tourism has obtained Recognition Status with the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC). This is a great step forward for the SSTL which in 2015 also partnered with the Fair Trade Tourism of Africa in its endeavour to enhance local and international credibility and visibility for this label.

New tourism establishments certified with Seychelles Sustainable Tourism Label

Hilton Labriz Resort and Spa of Silhouette Island and the Anse Forbans Chalets on the Main island of Mahe have been added on the list of tourism establishments that are Seychelles Sustainable Tourism Label (SSTL) certified.

A certificate presentation ceremony was held this week at the ESPACE Building offices of the Minister for Tourism and Culture Alain St.Ange.

Present at the ceremony were the principal secretary for tourism Anne Lafortune, cluster director of business development for the Hilton Seychelles Hotels Smital Shah-Boultwood and Brigitte Haworth from the Anse Forbans Chalets.

Four Seasons Resort Seychelles receives Seychelles Sustainable Tourism Label certificate

Another tourism establishment has received Seychelles Sustainable Tourism Label (SSTL) certificate recently. Four Seasons Resort Seychelles was added on the list of tourism establishments that have been SSTL certified and they are today being promoted to the world as being "an environmentally friendly establishment".

The team from the resort, headed by its general manager Adrian Messerli, received the certificate from the Minister for Tourism and Culture Alain St.Ange earlier this week. Also present was the principal secretary for tourism Anne Lafortune.
